small-scale and child-friendly holiday park near the Pyrenees

Domaine du Cammazet is situated in the beautiful Ariège in the Occitanie region (called Midi-Pyrenees until a few years ago) at only 15 minutes drive from the medieval town of Mirepoix with its special half-timbered houses, beautiful carousel and cosy terraces.
From our domain we have a 360 degrees panoramic view over the rolling hills,
the bison park of the neighbours with many bisons and many more deer, and we can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets behind the characteristic church tower of the village Lapenne.
Yet we are only an hour away from Toulouse and the famous Cité of Carcassonne.

In Mirepoix or Pamiers, fifteen minutes away, you will find bakeries, supermarkets and everything else you need.

At a 5 minutes' drive there is a beach on the river where the children can play endlessly in the rapids. At just over half an hour you will find beautiful lakes with pedalos and boats and you can canoe or raft. In about 1.5 hours you can be standing with your feet in the sand of the Mediterranean Sea or walking through Andorra.

 

In the gites and lodges, at the pool and at the bar there is good wifi. Very useful to discover everything about the surroundings. Of course we also will be happy to give you tips on the most interesting places to visit. 

 

Would you like to be able to combine your holiday with your work (workation), online lessons of the children or maybe to write a book or complete an important assignment in all peace and quiet? On our domaine, it is all possible!
From your own accommodation, at a picnic table in nature, on our XXL lounge sofa on the terrace, from a hammock, or on the hill under the old oak tree with a view of the bisons and deer in a rocking chair or at the picnic table.

 

We love nature and animals. If you want to go on holiday with your dog, then you are welcome if it is sweet, well-behaved and used to having children around.

Around our domaine there are horses, we have 2 cats, chickens and a cockerel.

For the horses, the terrain is fenced off with electric fencing that you can carefully crawl under if you want to visit the horses or go for a walk or play in the woods.
